SCHEDULE OF CLASSES FOR THE INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAM

For future sessions, the schedule of classes may be different from the current schedule of classes.
IEI observes the following national holidays: Memorial Day (one day), Independence Day (one day), Labor Day (one day), Thanksgiving (two day holiday), and Christmas and New Year’s Day (one day holidays which occur during a 2 week winter break).
Teachers may occasionally decide to conduct part of class time on field trips and outside excursions. These trips can occur anytime from 9:00am to 1:45pm and interfere with the regular classroom hours in part or in whole. Time spent on field trips and outside excursions are considered part of the regular class time. If a student does not wish to participate in a field trip or outside excursion, that class time cannot be made up. Any field trips or outside excursions will be scheduled on a very discretionary basis.

COSTS FOR THE INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAM

If you take one class (5 hrs./wk) during an 8 week session, tuition is $450 (1 textbook ~$40).
If you take two classes (10 hrs./wk) during an 8 week session, tuition is $900 (2 textbooks ~ $80).
If you take three classes (15 hrs./wk) during an 8 week session, tuition is $1,350 (3 textbooks ~ $120).
If you take four classes (20 hrs./wk) during an 8 week session, tuition is $1,450 (4 textbooks ~ $160).
If you take the 12 week iBT TOEFL class (16 hrs./wk), tuition is $1,800 (iBT TOEFL Prep. book = $50)
All new students are required to pay a one-time $100 testing and application fee.
Any person who would just like to take the one hour English Placement Test to determine his or her level must pay a $50 testing fee.
Each student who enrols must pay a $50 lab and materials fee per session.
Students are required to have the correct edition of the textbook being used in class.
Currently IEI accepts cash or check. We are working on a plan to accept credit cards in the near future.

DISCOUNTS FOR THE INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAM

If you register for two or more consecutive sessions, we will deduct $100 off the following session if you pay at least 2 weeks before it begins.
If you bring a friend to IEI and your friend registers and pays in full for 4 classes, we will deduct $50 from each of your tuitions.

DISCLAIMERS FOR THE INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAM

There must be a minimum of 5 students to have a class meet on a full-time basis. If there are less than 5 students, the classroom hours will be reduced.
The actual schedule of classes, dates, start times, and finish times are subject to change at any moment if the teachers require a change due to unusual circumstances such as inclement weather, hazardous conditions, or power outages. We will try to follow the posted schedule as closely as possible. In case a class cannot meet on a scheduled day, an alternate class date (usually a Friday) will be announced as a make up for the missed class date. Any makeup dates will be completed within the scheduled 8 week session. Please call the office to confirm the actual class schedule for any time period.
Costs for all classes are subject to change. Any change in costs will be posted as soon as possible on this website.
IEI will choose the teacher for each class for each session. Requests for any particular teacher cannot be guaranteed.
In case of any disputes between IEI and a student, IEI will attempt to resolve the dispute as fairly and adequately as possible. Nevertheless, in all cases, final resolutions will be determined by IEI.

REFUND POLICY FOR THE INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAM

The testing fee for new students in the intensive English program ($50) and the application fee for new students in the intensive English program ($50) are non-refundable.

A student who withdraws from a course will receive a refund on tuition according to the following schedule:

Within the first week of an 8 week session: 90% refund
Within the second week of an 8 week session: 75% refund
After the second week of an 8 week session: 0% refund

If a student has to unexpectedly drop a course for the rest of a session due to an urgent situation, he/she may take any remaining classes that he/she does not attend during a future 8 week session within six months from the time of dropping. IEI will need written documentation as to the reason for dropping.

If a student registers and pays for a class that eventually does not form due to insufficient enrollment or lack of teachers, the student can:

request a 100% refund
use the tuition amount as credit to be applied towards private tutoring sessions. Please see Private Tutoring for more information.
use the tuition amount as credit for another class within six months.
